Ivan Vučetić is considered to be the father of dactyloscopy- the science of fingerprint identification. In order to solve a murder Vučetić took all ten fingerprints from a suspect and compared them with the bloody fingerprints at the crime scene. Matching the prints he linked the suspect with the crime scene and thus undeniably confirmed the killer. A new method of solving crime was born - the fingerprint method! Today Vucetic’s fingerprint method is used in many countries around the world, from Argentina to Croatia.
